Event Rates for the Scattering of Weakly Interacting Massive Particles from 23Na and 40Ar

چکیده

Detection rates for the elastic and inelastic scattering of weakly interacting massive particles (WIMPs) off 23Na are calculated within framework Deformed Shell Model (DSM) based on Hartree-Fock states. At first, spectroscopic properties detector nucleus, like energy spectra magnetic moments, evaluated compared with experimental data. Following good agreement these results, DSM wave functions used obtaining spin structure functions, nuclear coefficients so forth WIMP-23Na scattering. Then, event also computed a given set supersymmetric parameters. In same manner, using wavefunctions, WIMPs from 40Ar obtained. These results annual modulation will be useful ongoing future WIMP detection experiments involving materials nuclei.

Improved Limits on Scattering of Weakly Interacting Massive Particles from Reanalysis of 2013 LUX Data.

We present constraints on weakly interacting massive particles (WIMP)-nucleus scattering from the 2013 data of the Large Underground Xenon dark matter experiment, including 1.4×10^{4}  kg day of search exposure. This new analysis incorporates several advances: single-photon calibration at the scintillation wavelength, improved event-reconstruction algorithms, a revised background model includin...

Nuclear form factors for the scattering of weakly interacting massive particles

We discuss the scattering of supersymmetric dark matter particles from nuclei at nonzero momentum transfer, After a brief treatment of spin-independent form factors, we carefully formulate the spin-dependent scattering problem. We conclude with a calculation of a spin-dependent cross section in t3tXe; it falls as the momentum transfer increases, but more slowly than the spinindependent cross se...

Scattering of Weakly Interacting Massive Particles from 73 Ge Typeset Using Revt E X

We use a " hybrid " method, mixing variationally-determined triaxial nuclear Slater determinants, to calculate the response of 73 Ge to hypothetical dark-matter particles such as neutralinos. The method is a hybrid in that rota-tional invariance is approximately restored prior to variation and then fully restored before the mixing of intrinsic states. We discuss such features of 73 Ge as shape ...

On the direct detection of extragalactic weakly interacting massive particles

We consider the direct detection of weakly interacting massive particles (WIMPs) reaching the Earth from outside the Milky Way. If these WIMPs form a distinct population they will, although of much lower flux than typical galactic halo WIMPs, have a number of features which might aid in their ultimate detectability: a high and essentially unique velocity (∼ 600 km/s in the galactic rest frame) ...

Search for low-mass weakly interacting massive particles with SuperCDMS.

We report a first search for weakly interacting massive particles (WIMPs) using the background rejection capabilities of SuperCDMS. An exposure of 577 kg days was analyzed for WIMPs with mass <30  GeV/c(2), with the signal region blinded. Eleven events were observed after unblinding. We set an upper limit on the spin-independent WIMP-nucleon cross section of 1.2×10(-42)  cm(2) at 8  GeV/c(2). T...
